The first “Annapoorna” Rail Dining-Car, which ran between Delhi and Dehra Dun, was opened by Lal Bahadur Shastri, Minister for Railways and Transport, Government of India, at the Railway Centenary Exhibition in New Delhi, on March 15, 1953.
